Another Relaxing Sunday

This past Sunday was our Stake Conference. That meant instead of having our usual late schedule, we were done by noon and had the rest of the day to enjoy. We came home, changed, finished getting dinner ready, and ate. I was trying to think of things to do that would get Jack's energy out, but stay inside cus it was really warm. I finally decided on making some easy sugar cookies as a family. We let Jack sit up on the counter and help put all of the ingredients in the mixing bowl. He even helped scoop out the dough and put it on the cookie sheet. He was such a good helper! We watched the cookies bake in the oven and even made some icing to put on the cookies when they were done. Jack did a great job on his first batch of cookies!
After we were done in the kitchen, Jack wanted to play us a little song on the piano. He loves music. Whether is is playing on the piano, singing, or dancing...he also loves to have an audience. He is such a goof, but I love him.
To finish off our day, we went on a walk around the neighborhood and spent a little time up in Jack's room playing with his toys.
Overall, it was a great day as a family. Jack definitely keeps us from spending too much time sitting down, but he always keeps it fun and interesting.

Braves Game and Ice Cream

On Monday night, Kyle, Jack and I got to go down to San Diego and watch the Padres play the Braves! When Kyle was done with his work for the day, we headed down early so that we could watch the Braves during batting practice. I was also hoping to meet Chipper Jones and get him to sign a ball. Well...we got there in plenty of time, but Chipper didn't come out to sign any autographs. My guess is that he was down with a trainer or something since he didn't play the two days before. Oh well. At least I got to watch him play! We had seats up high, but it was still fun to be there and watch my favorite team play again.

Here comes Chipper up to bat!

Even Jack was cheering and having a fun time.

On Tuesday night, Jack had his first big fudgsicle. He couldn't finish the whole thing and he made quite a mess on his hands, but he sure enjoyed it.

Jack likes the show Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. The episode on today was where they went into space. Jack's favorite part is when they count down from 10 to 1 for BLASTOFF! He gets so into it and tries to count with them. So funny!

Pregnancy and Jack update

Ok, so this is a post with just a few random things.
First, I've been meaning to put up an updated picture of my pregnancy, but I've gotten a little behind. This photo is me at 21 weeks. Right now I'm at 23 weeks, so I'll try to do better at keeping the pics up to date. Over half way there to seeing our little girl! Can't wait for Christmas time!

Yesterday, Jack was being a little silly with his toy bins. As you can see, they were turned into a fort for him and his toy story pals.

Jack likes Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and the last couple of days, he's been calling out to Tootles with the rest of the characters. So funny!

Jack's newest word is Meemaw! He's just saying a quick hello!

Baseball Week

Tuesday: San Diego Padres Game

Kyle was picked for a free hat so we let Jack wear it for the night.

Friday Night: Angels Game-Mormon Night

We were up in the nosebleeds, but the view actually wasn't that bad.

Saturday Night: Little League Western Regional Finals in San Bernardino

It was 105 degrees outside, but with the clouds, a few drops of rain, and a little spray fan we were able to stay somewhat comfortable.

Who needs toys when you have a box??

One thing that Jack loves to do is play in big boxes. There could be a whole pile of toys next to him and he will run into the other room and hide in the giant box. So why do we even buy toys???

Camping at San Onofre

This past weekend our little family went on a mini vacation. We went down to San Onofre State Beach and camped for a night. The first day we got up and took our time getting down to our camp site. We parked our car, got the cooler and things for the beach, and took the trek down to the sand. Most of the beach had rocks, but we found a little area that had some sand and it was just enough for us to sit and relax, and for Jack to play. It was pretty cloudy the whole day, but it was warm enough to enjoy the day. We had to pack up a little earlier than we had planned because high tide was coming in. But we hiked back up to our campsite and set up for the evening. Our campsite wasn't as close to the beach as I had originally thought, but we still had a beautiful view of the ocean. After we got our tent and a couple of other things set up, we took Jack for a walk down past some of the other campsites. He was so worn out from playing on the beach that he fell asleep in the stroller. We got back to our site, started a fire, and got everything ready for dinner... good ole hot dogs and chips. And of course for dessert we had smores. Jack got a little cranky near the end of the evening, but after a little bit of relaxing by the fire, he fell asleep. Once the fire went out and we got Jack in his sleeping bag, Kyle and I played a few rounds of Phase 10 in our tent and then it was lights out.
The next morning we got up, had some muffins for breakfast while sitting and watching the waves, and then packed up the car. We took a little drive down the coast, and then came back up into town to see the movie Brave. It was Jack's first movie theater experience and he did pretty good. He wanted to leave a couple of times, but then he got back into the movie and his popcorn and M&M's and was fine. After the movie we went and got lunch and headed home.
We were all so tired that we took a nap as soon as we got in the door.
The weekend was really fun. It was quiet, relaxing, and I loved spending the time with my family. We didn't really travel that far, but it was nice to get away from the normal everyday stuff for a little bit. Hopefully we can make this a regular thing (except next time we will get an air mattress to sleep on!).

Packages from TN

Jack loves getting things in the mail. And recently, he has gotten 2 big packages from family in TN. The first package came after our visit to see my family and we had so many birthday gifts for Jack that we couldn't fit them all in my bag on the airplane. Once they all came in the mail, he didn't want to do anything except play with all of his new toys.

The second package came a few weeks later. First of all, Jack LOVES toy story. So...he got quite a surprise when all of the toy story gang were in a package just for him! Now he plays with the gang all day, everyday.
