Little Laughs

Last week we took some Fall pictures of Jack, Ethan, and Cody. Kyle, Jack and I got to Cannonsburg before the rest of the family so we were having a little fun with Jack. While waiting in the parking lot, Jack was sitting on Kyle's lap in the driver's seat and honking the horn. Jack sure got a kick out of it. He has such a cute little laugh I love it!

Vote for Jack

Today I went to Carters and got Jack some much needed clothes since he's growing like a weed. While I was there I was told that I could enter Jack in a photo contest so I went home and took some pics in the backyard. My mom came to help me out so that Jack didn't fall over. Well... I went to upload one of these pics but it was too big for the website so I entered one of him in his Snoopy costume. So on NOVEMBER 24, go to WWW.CARTERS.COM/CUTIES and VOTE FOR JACK!!! The pic I used in the contest is the picture above so you can see which one to look for. Anyways, today was a fun day out and about with Jack. I don't get too many full days with Jack since I work full time, so I LOVE getting to be with him all day. Just love my little boy!

October Fun

Happy Halloween!
This month has been full of fun activities. Our first big activity was going to the Waldon Farms Pumpkin Patch. There were different animals like cows, pigs, and goats for everyone to see. There was a hay ride, corn maze, and other fun things for kids to do. We did the corn maze, picked out a pumpkin, and had fun walking around and seeing the animals.

The next weekend, a nearby park had a fall festival with some carnival games, trick-or-treating, and a hay ride. We did the kids hay ride that told a story as we went along. It was pretty fun and it wasn't too cold either. We of course dressed up Jack in his costume for the trick-or-treating. He was Snoopy this year. Nothing fancy but still so cute!

One thing we also started this month was feeding him baby food and trying to feed him with a spoon. This is from the first time we tried to feed him. It was very messy and he was more interested in playing with the spoon than anything.
Yesterday we went to Franklin for their fall festival. It was super fun! There was free face painting so Jack got a candy corn on his cheek. There were pony rides, sheep and goats to pet, and also bounce houses for the kids. There was also vendors with their tents set up all around the square. We had fun walking around, watching the cloggers for a few minutes, and getting some yummy kettle corn! Jack got worn out and fell asleep near the end.

This month has been really fun with all the different things going on. And it's already Halloween! So everyone have fun trick-or-treating tonight!

New Apartment

Exciting news! On Saturday, September 18th, we moved into our new apartment. Since we've gotten just about everything put away, it's finally looking more like a home. We have no cable or internet, but we keep ourselves entertained with movies and cartoons (for Jack). We are working on getting pictures hung up, and doing some decorating, but it's coming together nicely. Once we get it all done I will post some pics. And one nice thing too is that we have room for Jack's crib. And he actually sleeps pretty well in it! but that's all for now. More to come soon :)

Jack's Big Smiles

Now that you've seen Jack's grumpy side from the previous post of him at the beach, here is his happy and cute side. He is always so full of smiles so I had to get some pics with his big adorable smile!

Going to the Beach

When we went out to California last weekend, Kyle and Jack flew out Friday morning and I flew out that night after work. So before I got there, Kyle took Jack to the beach for the first time. I guess he didn't like it too much. So here are some pics that show just how much he enjoyed it. And yes, the video is sideways but I don't know how to change it. So just tilt your head and it is just fine :)

Lots of Changes

Well it's been about a month since I've been able to get on here and post any updates. But a lot has happened in the past few weeks. First of all, I was able to get a full time job at Bank of America. It's for a teller position but I'm hoping that I will be able to learn quickly and perform well enough to move up into a personal banker position in the near future. I just finished up my training and I will be moving to my permanent location tomorrow which is in Antioch. I wish it was closer, but we are just lucky that I was able to get full time since everyone else I was training with was only part time.

Another exciting thing is that getting this job allows us to now move out into our own apartment. We were lucky again with finding our apartment. A friend of Kyle's family in California knows someone here in Murfreesboro that owns properties and happened to have a place open for us. We are getting an awesome deal and it is clean, safe, and very close to school, Kyle's work, and Jack's babysitter. It is small and old, but our landlord is letting us paint and make it our own so we are very excited. Along with moving into our own place across town means moving out of the Murfreesboro Ward and into the Stones River Ward. I will greatly miss our Primary kids and the Primary Presidency, but I'm sure we will be put to work in the new ward.

Now moving on... a little while ago we knew that we were going to have to figure out what to do about a car since the lease on my Versa was ending this fall. Well a couple of weeks ago we found online a 2007 Toyota Corolla in Atlanta for a good deal. It's black, and it is manual trasmission, but it was in our price range and it was low on miles. So we went down to Atlanta and bought ourselves our first car together. It gets great gas mileage and we are so happy with it.

Last weekend we got to go back to California for a special occasion. Kyle's best friend, Walter, got married in the Newport Beach Temple. It was great to be there to support him and to see this special time in their lives. It was also fun to see Kyle's family again and to let everyone see Jack in person. It was a very quick trip, but I think it was worth it.

Well... now Kyle is back in school and working part time at Bank of America, I'm working full time at Bank of America and then full time at home with Jack, and we are getting things ready to move into our apartment next week. It's been a very busy and crazy time, but an exciting time.

Family Videos

I couldn't get my videos to upload for a while for some reason. But today it's working so here are a few fun family videos from the last few weeks.

This first video is when we went to Percy Priest Lake for the 4th of July.

Next is our trip to St. Louis to see the Arch and a Cardinals game.

Then we have some tummy time with Jack.

And lastly we have Jack's first time in the pool.

Jack's Baby Blessing

Yesterday was the day we blessed Jack in church. Kyle gave him a sweet blessing and it was nice to have family able to come out and participate. Jack started to get a little fussy during the blessing, but he did pretty good. My parents, Kyle's parents, and my grandparents were able to be here for Jack's special day. Jack looked so cute yesterday in his little white outfit! (But of course I think he's the cutest anyways. What can I say... I'm his mom.)

Here is our little family. Jack, of course wasn't paying attention.

Here are my parents with Jack. He had just finished crying so that's why his eyes are a little red.
My Grandma and Grandpa Walker came from Utah to see him.
And Kyle's parents flew from California to see him.
I'm so glad that we have the gospel in our lives and that Kyle is a worthy priesthood holder so that he was able to bless Jack yesterday. I love our little family and I can't imagine life without this sweet little boy.

Happy Birthday Kyle!

Ok ok, so I know I'm behind on this one too but...
Happy Birthday Kyle!
You are a great husband and dad.
We love you!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Well I know it's a day late but...
Happy Birthday Mom!
Hope it was great and I can't wait for the big party :)
We love you!

First Pool Time

Today was really hot outside, so we thought it would be a good day to stick Jack in the pool for the first time. We went outside, put a few inches of water in kiddie pool, and slowly put him in the water. It's a lot colder than the bath water he's used to, so I thought he would start crying almost immediately. But surprisingly, he seemed to like it! We started just with his feet, and then slowly sat him down. The water was only deep enough to barely cover his legs, so he had fun kicking. He was fine with the water being on his lower body, but when we put some on his bare stomach, he didn't seem to like that as much. We were only out there about 15 minutes, but it was really fun getting in the cold pool on a hot summer day with him.

St. Louis Trip

This past weekend Kyle and I went up to St. Louis for a little vacation. Jack stayed home with my family. We stayed with a friend of Kyle's, Rick, in Southern Illinois and drove up to St. Louis for the day on Saturday. St. Louis is right on the Mississippi River.

While we were in downtown, we went to see a Cardinals game. They were playing the Dodgers that day and our seats were the first row right behind the Dodgers bullpen. They are working so hard...

This was the view from our seats. Not bad really. Of course the camera always makes it look farther than it really is. It was 93 degrees but on the field it was 111 degrees with the heat index! We were just off the field so we were EXTREMELY hot! We were definitely drinking tons of water that day.

Here we are at the new Busch Stadium. Home of the Cardinals.

The Gateway Arch!

Under the arch there was a little museum with the history if it.

We actually went to the top of the Arch! I can't believe I survived. It's 630 feet tall!

Here is the view of downtown St. Louis from the top of the Arch.

Metropolis...home of Superman!.
We stopped in Metropolis on the way home just to take a few fun pictures. There is a Superman museum too but we didn't go in.
Super Kyle!

Overall our trip was really fun. It was just for the weekend but it was a much needed break. Even though it was a lot of driving and really really hot it was all worth it.
