Now that you've seen Jack's grumpy side from the previous post of him at the beach, here is his happy and cute side. He is always so full of smiles so I had to get some pics with his big adorable smile!

Jack's Baby Blessing
Yesterday was the day we blessed Jack in church. Kyle gave him a sweet blessing and it was nice to have family able to come out and participate. Jack started to get a little fussy during the blessing, but he did pretty good. My parents, Kyle's parents, and my grandparents were able to be here for Jack's special day. Jack looked so cute yesterday in his little white outfit! (But of course I think he's the cutest anyways. What can I say... I'm his mom.)
Here are my parents with Jack. He had just finished crying so that's why his eyes are a little red.

Changes with Jack
Since Jack was born, some things have changed that have definitely taken some time to get used to.
1) Having both arms to do things is now a luxury.
2) Sleep, especially in my own bed, is something I am learning to live with very little of.
3) Date nights are now cut down to no more than about an hour so Jack doesn't starve while we are gone.
4) Jack urinating all over while changing a diaper is now becoming a normal thing.
Yes, there has been some adjusting with Jack being around, but it has been so much fun too. I really wanted a girl, but for everyone who told me that boys rock... you were right. I still want a little girl one day but I sure am lovin this little boy!

2 Weeks Old
Today, Jack is 2 weeks old. I can't believe how much he has changed in just 2 weeks. He is so full of expression and every day there is something new that I learn about him and his little personality. And I am happy to report that last night was the best night of sleep we both have had yet. He was still up a few times, but it was so much better. My eyes were not quite so black underneath this morning. Anyways, these last 2 weeks have been really tiring and I have had so much to learn, but every morning I am excited to spend another day with little Jack. I am so excited to continue to watch him grow and discover new things. We are so blessed to have this little guy finally here with us and I can certainly say that my life has changed so much for the better.

Jack Maddux Pulido
On Saturday, May 29, it started just like any other day. But at about 10:00 in the morning, I was beginning to feel contractions that were definitely a little more painful than the false labor pains of previous days. Just after 11:00, they were getting to be in that 3-5 minute range that we were told to watch for. While timing the contractions, Kyle ran to get me a small lunch, then we finished packing my bag, and headed down to the hospital at about 2:00. Yup, it was really happening.
When we got to the hospital, I was at 2 cm. by 9 that night when the Dr. came to check on me, I was only at 3 cm. This was taking a while. I was told that he would probably be born around 3 or 4 in the morning, but by 11:00 I was already at a 10 and ready for this little boy to come. So by 11:28, Jack Maddux Pulido was born. He weighed in at 8 lbs 4 oz and measured 20 3/4 inches long.
Since I did an all natural childbirth, it was quite the experience. I have never felt anything like it (I'm sure other moms can understand just what I'm talking about). But even though I thought I was going to die from the pain, once Jack was put into my arms, it was all worth it. It was quite the Memorial Day weekend, but definitely one to remember.
