On Saturday, May 29, it started just like any other day. But at about 10:00 in the morning, I was beginning to feel contractions that were definitely a little more painful than the false labor pains of previous days. Just after 11:00, they were getting to be in that 3-5 minute range that we were told to watch for. While timing the contractions, Kyle ran to get me a small lunch, then we finished packing my bag, and headed down to the hospital at about 2:00. Yup, it was really happening.
When we got to the hospital, I was at 2 cm. by 9 that night when the Dr. came to check on me, I was only at 3 cm. This was taking a while. I was told that he would probably be born around 3 or 4 in the morning, but by 11:00 I was already at a 10 and ready for this little boy to come. So by 11:28, Jack Maddux Pulido was born. He weighed in at 8 lbs 4 oz and measured 20 3/4 inches long.
Since I did an all natural childbirth, it was quite the experience. I have never felt anything like it (I'm sure other moms can understand just what I'm talking about). But even though I thought I was going to die from the pain, once Jack was put into my arms, it was all worth it. It was quite the Memorial Day weekend, but definitely one to remember.
